TINY HOMES VILLAGE FOR HOMELESS SENIORS was founded in 2022 when Sylvia Andersen called her long-time vendor to alert him to the fact that Covid restrictions were over and we could again host a live event. During their conversation she discovered that her vendor had suffered through Covid and had ultimately ended up living in his car due to housing costs he could not meet. Her vendor was 85 years old. This unbelievable situation caused her to act; she then founded a charity based on his story. In 2022 "A Village for Bob, org" was formed.

We have found a glaring category of hard-working people in our communities who, as self-employed small business owners or independent contractors without retirement plans and benefits, have become homeless because of "aging out" of their jobs or due to the trials of Covid. While preparing to finally
re-emerge from a two year closure for live events, we discovered this tragic neglect of our most vulnerable, our Seniors.
Small businesses are the life's blood of our nation. They represent creativity, industry, hard work, determination, and fortitude. In the past year, we have heard hundreds if not thousands of stories describing the sudden change in circumstance for these seniors who, often without warning, find themselves homeless! For those lucky enough to have family willing to step in and help, a tragedy can be averted. For those not so blessed, living in their cars or on the street is their only answer.
We named our non-profit after one of our vendors who at 84 years of age found himself is this exact situation. To stand by and do nothing was not an option; thus, A Village for Bob was born. Our goal of building tiny home villages for seniors, unable to work enough to support the cost of housing and not in yet in need of full-time skilled nursing care. We can all help avert this tragedy. We need your help!
