Our Team

We have assembled a team of committed, hard working, selfless leaders in our community who see the vision of our Mission and our Goals to truly address the urgent need for affordable housing in our great State of Utah and across the Nation.

Our team leaders are experts in their field and have shared with us their talents. They have chosen to donate their time to bring a solution to some of the issues surrounding preventing homelessness.

Our founder, Sylvia Andersen, has produced live events for over 40 years. When COVID-19 forced all live events to shut down in 2019, her business remained closed for 2.5 years. In February 2022, 

Sylvia finally received approval to reopen and began reaching out to her vendors with the news. One of her first calls was to Bob, her longtime garden creator. Through their conversation, she discovered that Bob—at 85 years old—had become homeless and was living in his car. 

This heartbreaking discovery demanded action. If Bob was experiencing homelessness, other seniors surely were too. That moment became the catalyst for founding A Village for Bob, an organization Sylvia has since dedicated her life to leading. 

Today, the affordable housing crisis has reached epidemic levels nationwide, affecting seniors, single adults, and newlyweds alike. 

Mission: To address Utah's housing crisis by developing affordable tiny home villages that provide safe, dignified housing for individuals and families in need. 

Purpose: A Village for Bob is transforming lives by building affordable homes for seniors, single adults, and newlyweds preventing homelessness before it starts.We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community. Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
